In September 1984, a local Mexia biker, Joe Richardson, was run over and killed by a drunk driver. His family buried him but could not afford a headstone. Local bikers got together, founded the Brotherhood of Bikers and raised the money to purchase the headstone by presenting the first Easter Run as the new club's first charitable event and worthy cause.
For more than 25 years the club has continued to be involved with helping others during time of need.
The Brotherhood of Bikers is a family oriented fraternal motorcycle club and is also incoporated in the State of Texas as a non-profit organization. The goals and stated purpose of the Brotherhood of Bikers is to "improve the image of the biker and to encourage brotherhood among all motorcyclists."
